GEOGRAPHIC MAP TERMS What do you know about Geographic Map Terms? There are many geographical settings that make up the earth’s surface. Many of these characteristics can be seen on maps as well as from satellites because of their size. Many land formations are a result of weather and time, and often they can co-exist with one another. Each of these landforms has a special relationship with the environment and can be characterized by specific features. Islands, streams, reefs, and mountains are each a complex system and can be defined by some of the definitions found in this section. While we may not always think about the processes that create our earth, it is important to realize that the earth’s landforms have taken a very long time to take shape and that each has a special function within out environment. © Copyright NewPath Learning.
