LANDMARKS What is a Landmark? A landmark is any prominent object on land that can be used in determining location or direction. A memorial is a special kind of landmark which was built to honor and remember a person, a group, or event. World Landmarks • Great Wall of China - longest structure ever built, it can be seen from space • Mt. Everest, between Nepal and Tibet, the highest mountain in the world is 5.5.miles high • Mt.
