INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION What was the Industrial Revolution? The Industrial Revolution started in Great Britain with the invention of new farming technology. In the mid 1700’s, farmers began to come up with new ideas and technology to make farming more efficient. These ideas made farming much easier and less people were needed to work the land. New technology also created new ways of making goods. Products were made much faster, thanks to inventions such as the spinning jenny and the flying shuttle. These machines would not fit in a house and bigger buildings were built to hold them. After a while, factories were built for these machines and workers were forced to move to the city and work in the factories. Great Britain shared the technology from the Industrial Revolution with other countries who wanted to become industrialized. Great Britain also was able to trade with other countries that wanted to buy their products. The Industrial Revolution had a huge impact on the world. © Copyright NewPath Learning.
