ELAPSED TIME IN HOURS AND HALF HOURS What Is Elapsed Time? • Elapsed time is the amount of time from the start of an activity to the end of the activity. • It tells how long an activity lasted. • Elapsed time can be measured in seconds, minutes, and hours. How to figure out elapsed time: To figure out elapsed time in hours, find out when an event started and when it ended so you can figure out how long the event lasted. Example: The music lesson started at 4:00 p.m. and ended at 5:30 p.m. How long did the music lesson last? 1 hour and 30 minutes Example: The music lesson started at 4:00 p.m. and lasted one hour and 30 minutes.
