PLACE VALUE What Is Place Value? Beginning with the ones place at the right, each place value is multiplied by increasing powers of 10. How to Figure Out Place Value: In a four-digit number, the first digit is always in the thousands place, the second digit is in the hundreds place, the third digit is in the tens place, and the last digit is in the ones place.
