PLACE VALUE Place value is what each digit is worth. Here is a chart to help see place values up to the thousands place. In the number shown (4,573), there are four thousands, five hundreds, seven tens, and three ones. How to Find the Place Value: In order to find the place value of a number, you can count the number of places from the right. The first number will be the ones place. The next number moving towards the left would be the tens place, and so on. For example: What number is in the hundreds place in the number 3,291? The hundreds place is three places from the right. By looking at this chart, you can see the number 2 is in the hundreds place. © Copyright NewPath Learning. All Rights Reserved.
