NARRATIVE TEXT What is Narrative Writing? Writing that tells a story is known as narrative writing. A narrative that tells a story based on imagined events is known as a fictional narrative. Elements The characters, setting, and plot make up the elements of a story. Characters-the people involved in the plot of a narrative Setting-the time and place of a narrative Plot-the series of events in a narrrative Techniques Foreshadowing is a writing technique that gives the reader hints suggesting events that will happen in the future. Flashback is a writing technique that interrupts the events of the story to tell the reader about events that happened in the past.
